Murato is situated at the extreme South of Nebbio Region.

It is one of 10th municipalities composing the Haut-Nebbio. The town is crossed by the Bevinco river, the village is built on the sunniest hillside of its valley. The top of the valley is occupied by the biggest chestnut grove of the region where chestnut flour is still exploited. Murato chestnut flour is one of the most popular in all Corsica.

The main road access is by the oriental plain, at the Ortale roundabout of Biguglia RN 193 follow the direction Saint Florent. After 12 kilometers, you will pass the collar of San Stéphano, you will take left to reach Murato.

From the Balagne Region, take the road from the Desert of the Agriates and follow the direction Conca d' Oro Saint Florent.
